This series is designed to shift the focus from "data entry" to "operational success". By grounding the content in real business outcomes, like branding percentages and herd productivity. We move away from "using AgriWebb for data" and toward solving real-world pastoral challenges.
The series is broken into three phases: Preparation, Execution, and Post-Muster Insights.
Phase 1: Pre-Muster Setup & Logistics
Goal: Ensure your AgriWebb account is up to date and your team is all set for a busy muster.
Key Activities:
Update your map and landmarks
Key items to update:
First aid kits
Yards
Water points
Gates and laneways
No-Go Zones
Log your muster schedule in the AgriWebb Calendar
Keep your whole team on the same page
Stocktake your inventory when product arrives for the season
Ensure your team are set up for succes to keep you audit ready.
Add Lick, feed supplements, vaccination and drench supplies to your inventory
Start thinking about your grazing management
Review paddock feed availability and adjust muster order if necessary
See your grazing insights in Agirwebb to inform these decisions.
Set targets for post-muster pasture spelling or rotation moves
Tools like CiboLabs and the movement planner can help you better manage this.
Brief contractors on expectations and handling protocols
Invite them to your Agriwebb account using a View Only or Map Only user role to get them familar with your property.
Ensure your compliance protocols are up to date
Update animal classifications
Phase 2: In-the-Yard Execution (Mob vs. IAM)
Goal: Efficient record-keeping during branding, weaning, and drafting.
Mob Users:
Review and update your Management Tags to filter large herds at scale.
Utilise an overs/unders paddock for when your count out of a paddock doens't match last years muster figures.
Add new branders through a marking record.
Age up animals using the ageing record (e.g. Calves to Weaners, or heifers to cows)
IAM Users: Focus on Live Sessions for data capture during muster.
Complete this worksheet/interactive demo match your drafting logic to AgriWebb's live sessions
Phase 3: Post-Muster Reporting & Value
Goal: Connect muster data to productivity, profitability and sustainability drivers.
1. Productivity
Move beyond "head counts" to powerful metrics
Kilograms per AE/LSU (kg/AE): This is the gold standard KPI for northern systems. It measures the total weight gain of the herd relative to the grazing pressure.
Compare "Pregnancy Tested In Calf" (PTIC) rates from the previous year against actual weaning numbers. A gap here identifies "calf wastage," a primary productivity drain in the north.
Average Daily Gain (ADG):
For steers and sale cattle, tracking ADG between musters allows producers to identify which paddocks or genetic lines are performing, enabling "culling of the bottom 10%".
Mob:
IAM: ADG is automatically calculated on your livestock list... move beyond this and also utlisie our Weight Forecaster
2. Profitability
Cost of Production ($/kg): After your muster, combine muster expenses (contractors, fuel, lick) with total weight produced to find Cost of Production.
Livestock Gross Margin: Understand see the net profit of a specific mob after accounting for purchase price, inputs, and sale value.
3. Sustainability
Paddock Grazing Intensity and Load by Paddock Reports: Understand your ground cover and grazing utilisation and see if they are over-utilising specific areas.
