Rotational Planner

Plan, manage and monitor your grazing rotations

Updated yesterday

The Rotational Planner is currently available to Australian customers as an additional add-on to purchase, on Compliance or Performance plans. To purchase, visit the AgriWebb Marketplace in the Web App.

Create a new rotation on the Web App

There are two methods of adding a new rotational plan.

Farm map

  1. Click the green 'Add' button in the top left of the map

  2. Select 'Create rotation'

Grazing Section

  1. Click 'Create rotation' in the top right corner

  2. You can create a rotation starting today or a future date. Make sure to click 'confirm' on the date selector.

  3. Set a target rotation period and a default rest period for the whole plan. (These fields are optional).

  4. You can select the livestock you want to include in this rotation during this stage OR create the plan and add the livestock in later.

  5. Click 'Save'

You will then be able to select the paddocks you want to have involved in the planner and the order that they will be grazed in. Here you will be able to edit the grazing periods and rest periods for each paddock.

  1. Select paddocks using the drop down option

  2. Enter the number of grazing days for each paddock and the number of rest days. Rest will auto populate if you entered this in the setup stage.

It is key to note you will only be able to select from a list of paddocks which are currently active on the farm.

Adjusting the View

You are able to adjust the view from the top right corner, choosing between a split view, full view or shifting to a side bar view.

Conflicts within a rotation

Different coloured bubbles will indicate conflicts within the plan.

The orange bubble will indicate conflicts with other rotational plans you may have created, allowing you to either continue the plan with both mobs moving through at the same time or changing the path of the current rotation.

The blue bubble indicates a conflict with the rest period. This bubble will highlight the amount of time needed to ensure the paddock is meeting your desired rest period.

Simple code of colours

  1. Orange - conflicts with other rotational plans you've created

  2. Blue - conflicts with rest periods

  3. Hashed grazes - repeated paddocks within the plan. This shows when a paddock has been used multiple times in a rotation (e.g. if repeating the rotation)

Edit a Plan

  1. On the Web App, on the rotational planner page, click 'View' on the right hand side (Actions column).

  2. Within the window that appears, click 'Edit plan'.

  3. This will take you to the original 'planning screen' where you can adjust paddocks, rest periods and other details about the plan.

  4. Click save to make sure your changes are saved correctly.

Deleting a Plan

  1. Click into the rotational planner planner page and select the plan which you'd like to delete.

  2. The rotation dialogue box will then show all of the grazing details of the plan which is taking place, in the top left hand corner you will then see the dialogue to delete the plan.

FAQs

How does the new grazing add on work with current grazing features on performance plans?

Performance plans grazing functionality focuses on forage records (FOO/PGR/Residual) and basic reporting. The grazing add on is focused around planning paddock rotations and is not linked directly to your forage data.

What happens if you go off plan?

When recording moves, you can choose to adjust the plan in various ways by for example pushing out the plan to retain future planned graze lengths inserting a paddock if moving to a different location than planned.

What happens with my plans in a live session?

If the draft matches the next planned paddock on a plan, those animals will continue on plan. Any animals drafted into a different paddock will be removed from the plan.

What happens when splitting a mob?

If splitting a mob, the part of the mob left in the paddock will be automatically removed from the plan (same goes for if moving some of the individuals on a plan, those left behind will be removed from the plan)
