Move livestock between paddocks in Mob Management

Updated yesterday

Moving livestock to another paddock is simple! On the Mobile App it is easy as hold, drag and drop.

Mobile App

Drag & Drop

Head to the Map, hold down a Mob and drag the Mob to the paddock it needs to be moved to. Drop (release) the mob in the relevant paddock. Select either all mobs to be moved or draft & split. Finish entering the relevant mob details and move date before saving.

Move Record

Click into a paddock, select Animal Record and then Move. You can complete movements using the drop down list of paddock names.

This action can all be accessed from the Mob List under the Livestock tab as well.

Merge Livestock Upon Movement

If a merge is possible you will be able to select the livestock that you wish to merge in the target paddock.

Learn more by checking out our Merge Livestock article.

Joining

Livestock joining will be initiated by moving Bulls or Rams into the same paddock as Cows or Ewes. To end joining, move the Bulls or Rams to another paddock. Be sure to check out our article on Joining for more information.

Open Gate

Open and close gates at the time of a move. When a paddock is connected to other paddocks via gates, the details tab on a paddock will show a list of connected paddocks and if they are open or closed. You can use this list to update the status of your gates.

Click open or close to update the timing of when a gate was open or closed.

Note: When opening a gate to a paddock connected to further paddocks by gates, you will also have the opportunity to open or close these.

Press Select to save your changes.

For further details on managing your gates, view this article here.

Backdating a Move, Split or Draft

A move can be backdated, however, there can be some restrictions, check out this article for more details.

Do note, if a move is backdated to before another movement record, the animals will still appear in the last known location. The move record date will need to be edited to fix this. For example, a mob was moved to Paddock 1 on the 01/04 but then a move record was created on the 15/03 to Paddock 2. The animals will still display in Paddock 1 as it's their last known location but the move to paddock 2 will be in it's history.
