Merging means combining multiple livestock groups (mobs) of the same type into a single group. Merging is not automatic because when livestock are merged together, the records of both groups are also combined.
Merging multiple groups into one is only possible when the Management Tag, Tag Colour, Breed, Age Class and Enterprise/Management Group of the groups are the same.
If merging a purchased mob with a bred mob, the mob will appear as a bred mob but the purchase records will remain in reports. If merging a bred mob with a purchased mob, the mob will appear as a purchased mob but the records will still indicate the true purchase head originally. The weight, condition score & DSE will take the most recent record from either mob. By merging mobs, all movement records are consolidated into a single record for the entire group, ensuring a unified record for efficient livestock management.
Target Mob refers to the mob that will retain it's details, the mob being merged will receive the Target Mob's details in the newly merged mob.
