This guide is specific to the mob management subscription. If you are on individual management, please refer to this article on drafting in the yards using the live sessions function.
There are two methods to draft and split livestock on the Mob Management platform. You can split mobs during a movement record (using the 'Drag & Drop' method) OR you can use the stand alone Draft / Split record.
Draft & Split with a Movement Record on the Mobile App
When using the 'Drag & drop' movement record method, you will be given the option to draft & split the livestock.
Select the Livestock tab at the top of the Map.
Press and hold the Mob icon with your finger. The screen will adjust and the mob icon can now be dragged into another paddock. When you drop the mob icon into the new paddock, the following options will appear.
Select Draft / Split.
Select the Move button on the livestock you are splitting and input the number of head to split.
Input the number of head and select Ok. Note: you can undo this if you have made a mistake.
When you select Next at the bottom of the page, input the date of this movement. Select Next again to set up a grazing plan for these livestock.
Finally, press Save to complete the split of animals.
After you have split your livestock off, you may want to assign a Management Tag to help identify them by certain groupings. Find out more in our Management Tags article.

Draft & Split with a Movement Record on the Web App
Similar to the mobile app, you can split mobs of livestock using the Drag & Drop method. Click the Mob icon and drag it into the desired paddock. This will give you the option to either move or split the mob.

Draft & Split Record on the Web App
You split your mobs via the livestock tab, by navigating to Add Record > Split
From there, you will need to select the desired mobs that you'd like included within the record, using the Select mobs button.
Once added you'll then have the opportunity to choose whether a mob is being split into one paddock, or across a range of paddocks and you can select the number of head assigned to each one.
Once a split record is saved, it will appear in the history for the respective mob so that you can differentiate between normal paddock movements and splits.
