Tagging Records (IAM)

Add, remove and replace tags on individual animals with tagging records

Updated this week

You can access any of the tagging records from both the Mobile and Web App. Tagging is also available in the animal importer and live session.

These records will be tracked in the Tagging Report and Tagging Section of your Flock book/ Herd Book (UK).

To add animals onto the AgriWebb system, view this article here.

Adding Tags

There are 3 ways to add tags:

Bulk record - Mobile App

Only Herd/Flock Tags are available using this record if multiple animals are selected. To add other tag types (including Management Tags) you'll either need to select one animal at a time, use the CSV Importer or add through a live session.

On the mobile app, tap Livestock in the menu tab along the bottom.

Tap Create Bulk Record and select the animal or animals.

For individual identification, tap into the animal card from your individual list and press Add records.

Select Tag

Select the drop down menu to choose your tag type (See the table above for tag type definitions).

Fill out the required (*) and optional information

You can add multiple tags in one record by selecting another tag type. Alternatively press save.

Bulk record - Web App

Head to the Livestock tab > add records, and select Tag

Select the animal that you want to add a tag too, then select the tag you'd like to assign the animal. You can add multiple tags at once, and if you want to tag another animal you can select 'Save and next' or 'Save' to save and exit the record.

Live session

On the app, head to the Livestock Tab > Live Sessions > Create new session

Add animals step

If inducting animals for the first time onto AgriWebb, use the Add animals step.

Add tag step

If adding tags to existing animals on AgriWebb, use the Tag step.

Learn more about adding tags during a live session. For information on how to create a live session template view this article here.

CSV Import

If you want to add in tags to animals that already exist in AgriWebb, in bulk you can import them with a CSV file. This can only be done on the Web. Head to livestock and then Import Animal Data > Import Animal Updates.

After you've uploaded your file, you will see this "Tags" section where you can choose the tag type(s) relevant to your livestock.

Check out the help article on Adding individuals via CSV import to learn more if adding animals for the first time.

For traceability we don't recommend doing a bulk update via csv as the importer doesn't allow for tag traceability. However, there are certain cases where this could be useful.

Example: Updating tag colour of a VID tag or updating completely incorrect Tags from animal creation.

For further information on how to use the bulk update importer view this article.

Tag Report

You can then view a report of these tags in the report section of the web. For further information on how to navigate reports view this article here.

Replacing Tags

Make sure to use this record if an animal already has a tag but it needs to be replaced. This will allow for traceability of the old tags.

Mobile App

From your individual animal list, select the animal you want to replace tags for. Replace tags can only be done for a single animal at a time, or through uploading animal updates from a CSV (on the web).

Select Add records (bottom left)

Select Replace Tag

Select the tag to replace

Fill out the optional fields and press save

This can also be achieved in a live session ad-hoc. If an animal has lost an EID tap on More actions followed by Select an animal manually. Alternatively, you scan the replacement tag and select Assign tag to locate and assign the new EID to the existing animal.

You can also achieve a replacement tag record by clicking More actions and then Add record, before selecting the Replace tag option.

Web App

Head to the Livestock tab > add records, and select Replace Tag

Select the animal you'd like to replace the tag for and select the tag that needs to be replaced. Then add the replacement tag details before saving.

Retagging Report

You can then view a report of these tags in the report section of the web. For further information on how to navigate reports view this article here.

Removing Tags

Tap Create Bulk Record and select the species you wish to create the record for.

Select Remove Tag

Add the animals you wish to remove the tag from.

Select the tag/s you wish to remove. You can remove multiple tags in one record.
