Mob vs IAM Subscriptions

The differences between the Mob and Individual Animal Management (IAM) System

Updated today

Generalised Differences

The Mob subscription captures single records and create reports at a group (or mob) level. This includes average weight and total treatments administered to a group.

The Individual Animal Management (IAM) subscription tracks data at an individual animal level, through the use of electronic or visual identification/ear tags (EID & VID). This includes specific weights per animal and specific treatments given to an animal.

Requirements for the IAM Subscription

If considering switching to the IAM subscription you'll need to make sure:

  • All animals are tagged with identification (EID or VID).

  • Check if your current Hardware setup is compatible with your AgriWebb Device (iOS vs Android).

Updating Subscription Process

For any questions or interest in changing to a Mob/IAM subscription, you'll need to speak directly to our Support Team. These changes can only be made by our team.

To switch between subscriptions, all animal data (Mob data if moving to IAM or vice versa) will no longer be accessible. Before making the switch, any animal data that you want to retain for recording keeping purposes can be exported as either an excel file or a CSV.

You can export the livestock list and any of the reports. You can also use the date picker or search filter (top left) to find and export all the necessary data.

All other information, even if the subscription is changed, will remain the same including, map (paddocks & landmarks), inventory, tasks, cropping and rainfall reports.

Below are some general resources to take a look at before deciding to make the switch:

To switch to Mob:

  • The 'Getting Started - Mob Management' course in the AgriWebb Academy will be the best place to equip you with adding animals into AgriWebb in the individual system.

  • Collection of Help Articles on all things related to individual management in AgriWebb.

To switch to IAM:

Common FAQs

Currently the Mob & IAM subscriptions are seperate and do not communicate, therefore you cannot run both on the same farm at the same time.

Mob

IAM

Can I connect my hardware? No, this function is only available on IAM

Can I add a treatment to one animal? It'll be applied as a record to the whole group but the dosage can reflect the one animal. Use mob notes for extra detail if needed.

What if my mob structures change, i.e. after pregnancy scanning? You can split and merge mobs to change the mob make-up.

Can I upload individual animal weights? No, they can only be added as an average to the mob.

Is it possible to trace sire information with joining? Yes, you could create single, one animal mobs to keep track of sire information.

Can I turn my mobs into individuals?

No, you can currently run either fully IAM or Mob, mob information does not come across to the IAM subscription if you make the switch.

Can I manage my animals in mobs? While animals are still individual, animals can be managed easily in groups through Enterprises/Management Groups

Can I run my stud animals as IAM and my commercial breeders as Mob? You can currently only run either fully IAM or Mob.

Can I bulk add records to a group of animals? Yes, most records (i.e. move, weight, pregnancy scan, sale) can be added in bulk, tracking to a specific ID.

Can I run my cattle on IAM and my sheep on Mob? No, you can currently only run either fully IAM or Mob.
