Birth Records (IAM)

How to enter birth records on individual animals

Updated this week

The birth record can be used to get your lambs and calves into AgriWebb and linked to dam's and sires on the individual management platform. If you are using the mob management platform, please review the Marking Record article here.

If you're significantly backdating a birth record you'll need to cross check our age class rules for the offspring's date of birth. See this article for further details.

Mobile App

Select the Livestock tab from the bottom of your screen.

You will be able to edit or delete the birthing record by hitting actions.

Offspring Identifiers
You can record a visual identifier for each offspring through manual entry or by scanning a tag with a Bluetooth enabled stick reader or similar device. In order to record and EID for the animal a tag must be scanned.

To scan a tag, select the EID option under the Tag heading, then select Scan.

If you need to connect your Bluetooth stick reader or similar, tap the Connect hardware button on the next page. Read more about hardware connections.

Advanced Form Fields

If you have recorded the sire details as part of a joining record, artificial insemination record or scanning record we will present you with the list of possible sires. Options are sorted by how close they are to the estimated fetal age, and if it is within 2 weeks the closest sire is selected.

Bulk Adding Offspring & Parentage

Currently this record can only be input for one Dam at a time. If you're looking to bulk add offspring, add parentage and then remove the pregnancy status of the Dam do the following.

  1. Add animals via CSV, make sure that parentage information is a column on the CSV. Without this information you'll need to add the parentage information in bulk after the fact via the update importer.

  2. The animal will then be linked as the offspring of the Dam (if the Dam is on farm), however, this isn't tied to the pregnancy data. To remove the pregnancy tag and to let AgriWebb know that the Dam has given birth, you can do a bulk birth record.
