How to Administer Treatments in a Live Session

Mobile App (only)

Click on Livestock in the menu at the bottom of your screen.

Click on Start Live Session in the top left corner.

Select Treatment from the 'Quick Records' menu.

You can now select the medicine you want to administer. You can narrow the results by using the search bar at the top of the screen, or should you item not feature in you inventory or catalogue, you can also add a new medicine by clicking on Add custom medicine (for instructions on this step, see the 'Create a custom medicine' section of this document).

Once you have picked the medicine, you will see the live treatment record setup. You need to set a 'Dosage per head' for the medicine which sets the default dose per animal, but you can modify this during the live session.

Once the dosage is set, the Select containers from inventory button is enabled. Click on it. Upon doing so, you will be presented with the batch selection dialog. Freely select the containers you want to use and then click Confirm container selections at the bottom of the screen.

You will then be returned to the live treatment record setup page, where you will see the containers you have selected itemised. There is also a 'Update selection' button should you wish to change your selection.

Click Start Session or Run Later.

Once in a live session you will be prompted to select an animal. Pick or scan the animal you want to administer the treatment to. Once an animal has been selected you will see a card showing the treatment information.

This information includes the dosage to be administered to this animal, the batch number as well as a visual representation of the live total of the selected container currently on offer . Below this you have a Change container button allowing you to modify the current container in use.

If you decide the predefined dosage is not suitable you can customise the amount for each animal. Click on EDIT (to the right of the medicine title in the card).

A popup displays with a field to adjust the dosage and options to change the current container (should you pick more than one).

Click Save and Next (in the bottom left) to move on to the next animal or FINISH (in the top left) to finish the session. When you finish up a session containing treatments, you will see a summary of information like below:

How to Quick Treat Individual Animals

Mobile App

Click on Livestock in the menu at the bottom of your screen.

Click on Create a Bulk Record in the top right corner.

Choose the species that you wish to create the treatment record for.

Then choose the Treatment from the 'Quick Records' menu.

Here, you freely select the medicine you want to administer. You can narrow the results by using the search bar at the top of the screen. Similarly, should you need to apply a medicine that does not feature in your current inventory or catalogue, you can easily Add custom medicine .(For instructions on this step, see the 'Create a custom medicine' section of this document).

Next, the treatment record setup will be displayed. The first section of this screen prompts you to manually select the animals you wish to treat by clicking on Select animals.

Once you have the animals selected you can set the medicine details. You can enter a 'dosage per head' or 'total amount used' and the other value of the two should be worked out automatically.

Note: both the above values should always add up to the same amount - so if you have 9 animals at a 'dosage per head' of 40ml, then 'total amount used' should equal 360ml.

Once the 'dosage per head' amount and the 'total amount used' are set the container selector will be enabled and look something like this:

Click on the Select containers from inventory. There will be a list of medicine containers itemised and grouped by their batch numbers. You will there, be able to see the capacity and live remaining levels of each for quick reference. Choose one or many containers that you would like to use for your treatment record, and click Confirm container selections.

Note: You can only use a single batch number when creating a bulk treatment record.

You will now see return to the treatment record setup, and you will see the containers you have selected. There is also an 'Update selection' button should you wish to change your selection.

If you are happy with your record setup, click Save at the bottom of the screen to create the record. The app will return to the Livestock page where a message displaying 'Record created' should appear at the bottom of the screen.

Web App

Click on Livestock in the main menu.

Click on Individuals in the tabs at the top of the screen.

Click the Create Record button.

Choose the species you wish to create a record for:

Choose treatment from the Quick Records menu on the left.

You will be presented with a dialog to select a medicine. You can use the filter in the top left to narrow down the search results if you know the name of medicine. The show filter allows you to switch between the view of your current treatment inventory and the entire AgriWebb treatment catalogue. Should the product for application not be listed, there is a button located to the left of this filter that also allows you to create your own custom medicine to administer (explained in another section of this article, see Create a Custom Medicine).

Click Select on the medicine you want to administer. The treatment record will appear with your selected medicine as a section (you should see the medicine name as a section title).

After you have selected the applicable medicine, you can select the animals you want to treat by clicking on Select animals.

Once you have the animals selected you can populate the medicine details. You can enter a 'dosage per head' or 'total amount used' and the other value of the two should be worked out automatically.

Note: both the above values should always add up to the same amount - so if you have 9 animals at a 'dosage per head' of 40ml, then 'total amount used' should equal 360ml.

Once the 'dosage per head' and 'total amount used' are calculated correctly the containers section will be enabled. Click on Select containers from inventory button. You will presented with the 'Select Containers' dialog as shown below:

This screen gives you an overview of all of the containers available in your current inventory for the selected medicine (grouped by batch). As you select the containers you want to use (on the left) they will appear under the 'Selected Containers' section (on the right). You will see an indicator itemising how much of the treatment you required in total compared to how much is available in the containers you have selected.

Note: You will only be able to select containers from the same batch.

It will look something like this:

When more than one container is selected you can change the order they are used in during the treatment if desired based on expiry. Click and drag the card for a container to change the order.

Once you are happy with you selection click Confirm container selections at the bottom right corner of the dialog.

The treatment record now displays the containers you selected. If you decide you want to change the batch or containers you can do so by clicking Update selection and following the same process as before.

To complete the record click on Save in the bottom right corner of the screen to complete the treatment record.

View a Treatment in the Individual Animal's Production/History Details

If you have treated an animal you will now be able to view the treatment record as part of the animal history. See this article for instructions. There should be a record that looks something like this:

Clicking on Review will give you more information.

If the medicine has a withholding period and an animal is still within that holding period you will see some extra alerts. By clicking the 'Production' tab within an animal's details you get can see warnings for the current withholding period and all related withholding types, including the end date and number of days still remaining.

Create a Custom Medicine

If you want to create a custom medicine you can do so from the 'Pick a Medicine' dialog mentioned in the How to Quick Treat Individual Animals section of this document.

You will be presented with the following dialog.

  • What type of medicine you are adding - either a Vaccine or a Treatment.
  • A title for the medicine - alternatively you can click on the Select from catalogue button to pick a pre-existing medicine in the AgriWebb library.
  • There will be a number of withholding dates that can be entered including the standard meat withholding and other region-specific ones.
  • You can then add the container size, amount remaining and the unit of measurement.

Scrolling down you will see more options:

  • Cost per container
  • Batch number for this container (which does not need to be unique).
  • Manufacture and expiry dates.
  • You can add a default dosage per head or weight measurement that is automatically calculated when the medicine is administered.
  • And an optional description.

Once you save you will be taken to the treatment record form. If you want to know the steps from this point check out the How to Quick Treat Individual Animals section of this document.
