Cibo Labs Integration with AgriWebb

The integration with AgriWebb brings Total Standing Dry Matter (TDSM) estimations in for your paddocks.

Updated today

Cibo Labs uses world-leading science in remote sensing and machine learning combined with on-farm knowledge to bring new levels of understanding in pasture management.

AgriWebb integrates with Cibo Labs' Pasture Key Service:

  • High-resolution satellites capture images of your farm every five days.

  • Our advanced machine learning models process the imagery to analyze pasture biomass, ground cover, green cover, and more.

  • Clear maps, charts, and reports are delivered to your personal dashboard. It's a "plug-and-play" system—no hardware, no complex setup.

You can also access Cibolabs help documentation here.

AgriWebb and Cibolabs

The integration with AgriWebb updates with an estimated Total Standing Dry Matter (TDSM) for paddocks. Estimations are updated every 5 days on a 10 square metre resolution. If there are no clear satellite observations in the last 4 days however, an estimate will not be populated.

Total Standing Dry Matter is reported in kilograms of dry matter per hectare. ‘Dry Matter’ refers to the weight of plant material available without water.

Cibo Labs will also report on the accuracy of the TDSM value based on cloud cover and other environmental factors that may influence clarity of the imaging systems. Currently the accuracy can be viewed within the PastureKey Data folder supplied by Cibo Labs.

Converting the Total Standing Dry Matter to Feed On Offer

While the TDSM value is a useful metric for your operation, it may be more beneficial to convert this value to Feed On Offer (FOO) for livestock consumption. This can be converted through inputting a Dry Matter Utilisation value.

This calculation assumes there are no livestock in the paddock and no pasture growth rate has been entered. Total Dry Standing Matter x Dry Matter Utilization % x (100- wastage)= FOO. Your current FOO may vary based on growth rate and livestock grazing over time.

The forage utilisation value is input by the user as the Forage Utilisation Record and self-determined on the pasture or crop you grow and what percentage of that your livestock actively graze. Currently, once you create a utilisation record, the value will not display until after the next reading is added from Cibo Labs as it will apply to the next set of data.

In addition, entering the target residual (minimum amount of feed to remain in the paddock), will allow for the conversion of TDSM into FOO.

AgriWebb will use the target residual value to generate the Available Feed On Offer, which is the value that will be used to calculate Grazing Days Remaining based on stocking rates.

Enable The Integration

Please note: This integration requires you to be on the Performance AgriWebb Subscription and also requires a paid 'Pasture Key' subscription with Cibo Labs.

You can purchase the Cibo Labs Pasture Key service via the AgriWebb Marketplace or directly with Cibolabs.

Only users with the Administrator user role can enable the integration.

Select the Cibo Labs Pasture Key listing on the Marketplace page.

  • If you already have a Pasture Key subscription and just wish to integrate with AgriWebb, fill out this form and a member of our team will be in touch.

  • If you are purchasing Cibo Labs Pasture Key for the first time, click Enable. This will allow you to review pricing and purchase the Pasture Key subscription.

From there, you will be prompted to select the farms within your AgriWebb account to integrate. Once you have selected the farms you will see a loading spinner and you will be quickly taken from AgriWebb to Cibo Labs site and back as the initial connection is established

Back in the AgriWebb Web App, you will see a dialog detailing what data Cibo Labs will be able to access. If you are happy with the data sharing, you can proceed by clicking “Allow access”. If you do not wish to share this data with Cibo Labs, you can cancel here and choose not to enable the integration.

farmbot integration

If you allow access you will be taken to Cibo Labs site. You may be prompted to setup a login. Follow the prompts all the way through.

Once the account has been established you will be taken back to the AgriWebb Web App and presented with a window showing that the integration is enabled. You will also see that the status on the integration listing has changed to show “Enabled”.

This integration is now established and you do not need to take any further action. Data will start flowing between the systems automatically. Depending on the partner it may take a number of days for data to start showing up in AgriWebb.

If the status shows as “Pending” rather than "Enabled", the partner may still be processing things. You are free to navigate away from the integration page at this stage but if it remains pending for more than 24 hours please contact support.

FAQ's

My forage is not being updated in AgriWebb?

The Cibo Labs-AgriWebb integration model detects clouds (with ~80% accuracy), and then predicts the pasture biomass. Data estimates and imagery over the last month are used to inform and constrain predictions based on the amount of cloud cover and how recent the imagery is. When it's cloudy, TSDM estimates in AgriWebb may be slightly delayed and/or varied, particularly when there is limited historical data.

If you notice discrepancies in the data coming through, please contact Cibo Lab's Support team directly via support@cibolabs.com.au.

If you notice the data not coming into AgriWebb at all, feel free to first speak with the AgriWebb Support Team to verify the integration is working as expected.

I have entered in my utilisation and wastage percentages but they have not updated my FOO?
When you enter in your utilisation and wastage percentages, this will not update the FOO calculations until the next TSDM record is sent through from Cibo Labs.

How is my FOO calculated?

This calculation assumes there are no livestock in the paddock and no pasture growth rate has been entered. Total Dry Standing Matter x Dry Matter Utilization % x (100- wastage)= FOO. Your current FOO may vary based on growth rate and livestock grazing over time.

How can I trust the accuracy of these forage updates?

When the error associated with TSDM estimates is high, there will be a 'null/zero' reading reported in AgriWebb. This error may be associated with cloud cover, cloud shadow or satellite capture issues. Additionally, within the PastureKey service, you have access to a Data Folder.

In the Data Folder there is a csv file which includes data regarding the 'validity' of each satellite pass over. This refers to the percentage of each paddock that the satellite has been able to capture. This provides insight into when the most recent and accurate estimate was captured, and what TSDM data to base analysis on.

Can I input past or current data to calibrate?

Yes, Cibo Labs has a specific calibration tool where you can supply manual readings to help calibrate your farm and area. You can book a calibration session with Phil Tickle from Cibo Labs to learn more.

What happens to my data if I cancel my Cibolabs subscription?

All historical data is retained on your AgriWebb account but no new data or updates will come through.

What is the difference between the AgriWebb/Cibolabs product (PastureKey) and the Australian Feedbase Monitor with MyMLA?

  • The Australian Feedbase Monitor with MyMLA product is best used to look at average cover across an entire farm and should be used to see a visual representation across the farm as well as a single numerical representation of average cover.

  • The PastureKey product with AgriWebb gives a visual and numerical representation of the forage on offer at a paddock level.
