Often when in the yards, producers will draft their animals on different traits including weight range, treatment status or perhaps pregnancy status.

If you are wishing to draft your animals based on weight range or treatment status, the first step would be to ensure you have locations on the farm map to draft them too on AgriWebb. This could be the actual paddock they are going to, or some producers prefer to create drafting pens, which could look something like this on AgriWebb. Within AgriWebb you can select manual draft locations or draft by weight in a live session.

​Note: If you have yards like this set up purely for drafting purposes that may not exist in real life, they don't have an arable area so they won't affect your total arable area.

Once you have set up the drafting pens or ensured your paddocks are ready to go, you are able to add in the drafting options you want to see in your live session. It could look something like this.

When in your live session you can now draft animals based upon any criteria that you want by selecting between the various draft locations. Animals will automatically move to this area once the live session is completed and you are free to create subsequent movement records from there.

You also have the option for AgriWebb to automatically draft by weight.

If you select this and add draft options, you will be prompted to enter the number of draft locations. Then you'll need to set your weight rules and assign these animals to a target paddock (i.e. your draft paddocks).

You can also add additional manual draft locations.

​Start the session. Once a weight comes through in the session it will auto assign the animal to a draft location corresponding to it's weight. You can always override this if needed.

If you're looking for the heaviest animals in order to draft off after completing a weigh live session. Make sure to finish the session and go to the session data tab. From here configure the table to make sure the weight column in visible. Say you want to draft off the heaviest 30 animals, filter in weight order by selecting the up/down arrow. From there select the 30 animals from the tick box option on the left then add a record to those animals (i.e. move or sale record).

If you select criteria based drafting you can add your draft options. For each draft option select the target paddock and the draft criteria. To add draft criteria, you'll create a filter based on an expansive list of options, you can add multiple filters to the one draft criteria. For saving a filter for future use, see below.

Select the Draft option to add the Criteria > Add Filter Criteria.

Then select your filter.

Then select the grouping (i.e. management group ... 'is', 'is not', 'is one of' or 'is not one of'). Then select the relevant criteria based on the filter. If you'd like to add more filters to the one draft criteria select 'Add filter criteria'.

Once saved select 'Use' to save the draft criteria.

Repeat the same steps for the rest of the draft options. On the final draft option you'll have an option to select 'All others' this will send any animals that don't fit into a another draft criteria to this draft paddock location.

You can always add additional manual draft options if needed.

Once you start the session and start scanning animals, the animal will be assigned automatically to a draft location. If the animal has details updated mid session that effect the draft location, the draft location will update after those changes.

If you have created a draft criteria you would like to easily select again in the future instead of 'Use' the filter, select 'Save' to give the filter a name. The next time you select to add a filter it will show in the pre-populated list.
