Feed Planner

Plan out supplemental feeds and simplify record keeping!

Updated this week

For producers running a supplemental feed program, creating a Feed Plan will enable details to be entered once, and then be pre-populated for each scheduled feed record. Significantly reducing time spent on recurring feed records!

The feed plan is currently available on Mob Compliance plans and above.

Creating a Feed Plan

Web App

From the main navigation bar on the Web App, select Tasks > Feed Planner

Select 'Create a plan' in the top right. This opens the feed plan form so you can enter the required information.

Once you have filled out the required fields, select 'Save'

Mobile App

On the Mobile App press on the Map icon and Select the Livestock tab at the top of the page.

Select the livestock group you wish to feed, this will bring up the Paddock Dialogue. Press Animal Record and then Feed if you want all livestock in that paddock to be fed.

You can also access the feed record from the mob's summary page to feed a single mob. To do so, select the mob you wish to feed from the Paddock Dialogue screen.

Press More at the bottom of the screen and select Feed.

Fill out the date, feed details and feed allocation, and then select + Create feed plan at the bottom of the screen.

You cannot create a feed plan with the feed allocation set to 'Per Paddock'. Once you create your plan, your feed allocation will revert back to per head.

Once you have filled out the required fields, such as the plan name, the next feed date and its repeats, and then select 'Save'.

View and Edit a Feed Plan

A list of all Feed Plans can be viewed on the Web App on the Feed Planner page.

On this page, each listed plan has a 'View' button which when selected, displays detailed information about the plan. View the status and schedule of feeds from here.

You will also be able to edit a plan and skip a feed if necessary.

Saving a Feed Record

To actually create the scheduled feed record associated with the feed plan, on the Web App, select View on the respective plan, then 'Record Feed.' The standard feed record form will be pre-populated with the details you originally input when creating the feed plan.

Select Save to complete the record.

Planned Feed Records in the Task List

Any planned feed records that are part of your Feed Plans, will appear in your Task List on the mobile app. See the article here on Tasks for more detail on this.

Planned feed record notifications

When a Feed Plan is about to take place you will now receive a notification to alert you that the planned feed is required.

You will receive a push notification to your device in the following scenarios:

  1. Feed plan is assigned: When a feed plan is assigned to a user they will get an immediate push

  2. Feed plan is edited: If the Feed Plan is then edited, a new notification will send

  3. Feed out is due: The day a feed is due a user will get a notification at 8am notifying them the job is due today

  4. Feed out is overdue: The day after a feed was due the user will get a notification at 8am if the job has not been completed.

Note: Push notifications will only send when the user is next online.

Reporting

All saved feed records will appear as in the existing Feed Record Report on the Web

App.
