Uploading Weight Records from OptiWeigh (IAM)

How to upload your animal weight data from OptiWeigh into AgriWebb in bulk

Updated this week

We currently do not directly integrate with OptiWeigh in our AgriWebb Marketplace. However, you are able to upload an export of the weights into AgriWebb in bulk.

The export of OptiWeigh weight data is only possible on Individual Animal Management Management. It is not possible to upload data from OptiWeigh on Mob Management. See this article for the differences between our subscription types.

Exporting Data from OptiWeigh

Weigh data can be collected and exported from OptiWeigh's Data Portal.

  1. Login into the OptiWeigh data portal online

  2. Head to reports and select session data

  3. Select the session which you'd like to export

  4. Select the preferred ADG & Weight date range

  5. Download the session data

Reach out to the OptiWeigh team if you have any questions on exporting your data.

Once you have exported your data, the requirements for bulk upload in AgriWebb are as follows:

  • Data needs to be in CSV format

  • At least one form of ID (commonly EID but can be VID)

  • Weight and Date of Weighing

  • Needs to be the same species (i.e. only cattle in a file)

The exported CSV should have these columns to get started, once it's ready to be uploaded then export as a CSV file to import into AgriWebb. Feel free to use the CSV template if need be for uploading weights in general or with OptiWeigh.

Importing Data into AgriWebb

This can only be done on the Web App. To navigate to the weight importer, head to the Livestock tab.

Then, navigate to the Import Animal data button and select Import Weights.

From here, you'll need to select the species, and upload the CSV file before mapping to relevant CSV columns.

If you'd like to add a manual value (i.e. date) you can do so by clicking the 'Map to a column in CSV' and change it to 'Use manual value'.

From there select Next and Fix any errors before saving. For further details on adding weights though the bulk importer view this article.

The bulk importer will register multiple weight events for the same animal in the one CSV file
