Castrate & Spay Records (IAM)

This article covers Castrate and Spay records for individual animal management users.

Castrate Record

  • Castration is available for Cattle and Sheep.

  • Navigate to Livestock List > Add Record > Castrate

  • Once in the castrate record you will be able to select the specific date and animals that you'd like within the record through using the animal selector and date selector.

  • After the desired animals have been selected you can hit save in the bottom right hand corner and the Age Class will be updated (i.e. Bull > Steer, Ram > Wether)

  • The same record is available on web and mobile.


Spay Record

  • Spaying is available for Cattle only.

  • Navigate to Livestock List > Add Record > Spay

  • Similar to the steps above for the castrate record, you will be able to select the Animals and Dates that the spaying took place. The animals will be automatically filtered to only show the females, on farm.

Age classes that can be spayed:

  • Heifer weaner

  • Heifer

  • Cows

  • After the desired animals have been selected you can hit save in the bottom right hand corner and the Age Class will be updated to Spayed (i.e. Spayed heifer weaner, Spayed heifer, Spayed cow).

  • The same record is available on web and mobile.


Editing the record

  • If mistakes have been made when creating the records you can amend them by navigating to Livestock > Activity and find your desired record. This can be done on web or mobile.

  • Clicking into the records will allow for you to see the summary of the record you created, in the bottom right hand corner you will find the edit button to amend the details of the record.

  • The option to delete the record can also be found here as well.
